Up & Coming Scholarship
Two $7,500 scholarships will be given to young winter sports athletes. Apply by August 15, 2026.
Award Eligibility – Athletes must meet the following criteria to be eligible:
- Young men and women ages 12-18
- Competing in Winter Sports
- Financial Need
- Amateur Athlete
- Contribution to Community
- Provide two (2) references and provide their relationship and contact information
As part of your application, please include a short spoken essay, 5 minutes at most, telling us who you are and why you should win the Up & Coming Scholarship from the Sarah Burke Foundation. Include a link to your video on Vimeo or YouTube with appropriate passwords.
Please answer the following questions in your video:
a) Who are you? What do you want us to know about you?
b) What is your sport and why do you love it?
c) Why do you need the Up & Coming Scholarship? Do you have financial need?
d) Please include your competition history and results.
e) What does Sarah Burke mean to you?
f) Please end your video with, “I send it for Sarah because…”
Decisions will be made by the Sarah Burke Foundation Board of Directors (SBF BOD) and an athletic scholarship committee. Two $7,500 scholarships will be awarded. All decisions by the board and committee are final. Winners will be notified by phone on September 3rd.
