Congratulations to all the young athletes that applied for the 2022 Up & Coming Scholarship. We were impressed by each of you and enjoyed your applications. If you were not named a winner this year we encourage you to apply again as both of our winners this year have applied more than once.
The voting panel was made up of our Board members, as well, we invited decorated freeskier Grete Eliassen and Action Sports Photographer and TV Personality, Mason Mashon to lend their expertise.
Congratulations to our Up & Coming Scholarship winners for 2022, Oliver Neil and Juliette Pelchat!
Oliver Neil
Oliver Neil is a 15-year-old freestyle skier from Calgary, Alberta Canada. He started skiing at age 3, tried the park at age 7 and hasn’t looked back. Ollie loves to ski! Whether in the park or the back bowls with his dad. He competes in half pipe, slope style and big air and loves the challenge of learning a new trick and the freedom and creativity the sport allows. He gives back by volunteering at ski events and by fostering dogs for a local shelter. With his family, he also helps train service dogs that will be life changing for the people they will help. Ollie loves being part of the freeskiing community and aspires to be a positive role model for other up & coming athletes.
Good luck this season, Ollie! We’re rooting for you!

Juliette Pelchat
Recent high school graduate, Juliette Pelchat, is a 17-year-old snowboarder from Whistler, British Columbia, Canada. She started snowboarding at age 3 with her father and is now a member of the 2022/2023 Canadian National Team for Slopestyle Snowboarding, with the ultimate goal of competing at the Olympics. The sport is her passion, what she shares with her family and she loves how it can create connections, bring new opportunities and make lasting memories. Snowboarding is Juliette’s art. She is an avid supporter of women in sports, and with her sister, Juliette has created a series of skate events for girls to encourage them to learn to skate in a safe, no-pressure environment. She wants to continue Sarah’s fight for equality in sport and opportunity for youth.
Have a great season, Juliette!
